automatic
spoiler press and clip detection rig
There have now been a number of fixtures designed by TQC
specifically for the automatic assembly of large moulded plastic panel automotive parts.
The benefit of these machines is that they do
not contact the 'A' or visible face of the panel, but still allow quick and easy access to
assemble various optional extras of the panel by hand.
Assembly of this specific plastic bumper required a number of clips
to be automatically pressed into the part. The machine ensures all the separate bumper
parts are present, confirms the position of the clips, then proceeds to correctly press
all the parts together quickly and efficiently, providing a correctly assembled bumper in
a fraction of the time taken in a manual operation. the final secure position of the
clips are confirmed automatically and the bumper is released.
manual
grill assembly stations
TQC have also designed fixtures for the finishing of different
grill sub-assemblies, incorporating automatic part detection and a hot plate welder. The
main grill moulding is secured when the operator energises the vacuum , this then allows
other components such as chrome strips, badges and light clusters to be fitted and
tested, whilst still in the fixture. Correctly assembled grills are then automatically
released
