Forty years in. The fundamentals haven’t changed.

2026 marks TQC‘s 40th year in business. It’s a milestone worth acknowledging — not with noise, but with a straightforward look at what has been happening across the business and what it means for the customers we work with.

Forty years of building systems that work

TQC was founded to design and build well-engineered test and automation systems for customers with technically demanding requirements. Four decades on, that description still fits precisely.

The sectors have evolved, the technologies have changed, and the team has grown — but the reason customers come to TQC has stayed constant: they have a hard problem, and they need an engineering business capable of solving it properly. Reaching forty years as an independent Nottingham-based manufacturer is something we’re quietly proud of. It represents a long and unbroken record of projects delivered, problems solved, and customer relationships that have endured.

Team changes across design, build, and test

This year has seen changes in the team. We’ve welcomed new engineers into our design, build, and test departments — people who bring fresh capabilities and are already contributing to live projects.

We’ve also said goodbye to some long-serving colleagues who have moved on after committed careers at TQC. The knowledge and standards they brought to the business made a real difference. We wish them well.

For customers, it’s worth knowing that continuity of engineering knowledge has been managed carefully through this transition. The experience that underpins TQC‘s work doesn’t walk out the door.

Systems delivered across aerospace, automotive, medical, and precision engineering

Project activity in 2026 has covered the full range of sectors TQC serves. Systems have been specified, built, and commissioned into aerospace, automotive, medical, and precision engineering environments — each with distinct requirements, tightly defined acceptance criteria, and no tolerance for systems that only almost work.

The breadth of that workload is deliberate. TQC has always maintained capability across sectors rather than concentrating in a single market. The result is an engineering team that encounters a wide range of part geometries, process constraints, and test standards — and brings that depth of experience to bear on every new project, regardless of sector.

If you have a test or automation requirement in any of these areas, TQC is a straightforward business to talk to.

MALT: continued development for production environments

Development of TQC‘s MALT (Multi-Application Leak Tester) has continued through 2026, with a focus on connectivity and system integration. With over 80 units now deployed across customer sites, MALT is a proven production instrument — and the development work this year has been focused on keeping it well-matched to where production environments are heading.

Tighter integration with line data systems, cleaner configuration, and better traceability of test results are the practical outcomes. For production engineers evaluating leak test solutions, MALT combines the cost efficiency of air and differential pressure testing with the kind of connectivity that modern automated lines increasingly require.

Specifications and application guidance are available from the TQC technical team.

Cyber Essentials certification

TQC has been working through Cyber Essentials certification this year — a UK government-backed scheme that independently verifies baseline security controls covering firewalls, access management, secure configuration, malware protection, and patch management.

For customers in aerospace, defence, medical, and automotive supply chains where supplier assurance requirements are tightening, this is a verifiable step, not a checkbox.

Talk to TQC

Forty years in, TQC builds well-engineered systems for customers with technically demanding requirements. If you have a leak test, automation, or special-purpose machine requirement — at any stage from early specification through to full turnkey delivery — we’d be glad to hear from you.
